Due to handmade ceramic and glazing characteristics, each product has subtle variations in size, shape, texture, and appearance. During the firing process, the glaze may crystallize as it melts and cools, and in some cases small crystalline elements may detach. While glaze on interior surfaces, such as the base of a vessel, often vitrifies smoothly, differences in cooling conditions or glaze flow may result in natural crystallization or slight surface irregularities in certain areas. These characteristics are inherent to the ceramic production process. This do not affect normal use and not considered as defection.

Dainichi Kiln

Nestled at the foot of Mt. Minami-Dainichi in Kyoto’s Yamashina district, Dainichi Kiln is a place where the traditions of Kyo-yaki and Kiyomizu-yaki meet a spirit of quiet innovation.
