Ri Sanpei

The legacy of Ri Sanpei Kiln is rooted in the rich history of Korean pottery. Founded by Yi Sam-Pyeong, a pioneering Korean potter in Japan. Known for discovering the raw material for white porcelain, Yi Sam-Pyeong laid the foundation for a legacy that spans generations. Ri Sanpei's influence was pivotal in shaping the distinctive Arita-yaki style, characterized by its delicate and intricate designs. 

Today, the kiln is overseen by the 13th and 14th generations of his direct descendants, with Kanegae Sanbei, the 14th generation, ensuring the continuation of the family's commitment to excellence. Ri Sanpei Kiln stands as a testament to the enduring artistry and innovation that define this esteemed lineage in the world of Japanese ceramics.
