In the historic pottery village of Tachikui, Hyogo Prefecture, Shozo Gama carries forward over 800 years of Tamba ware through three generations of the Ichino family. Shaping each piece by hand from local Tamba clay and firing with wood kilns and ash glazes, the kiln produces work of quiet strength rooted in one of Japan's oldest ceramic traditions.
